The provide 麻豆国产AV medical and dental students with advanced education in public health and preventative medicine and prepare them to assume responsible management and professional positions in public health units or in academic medicine. These additional skills benefit the people of Georgia and elsewhere by staffing the physician and dental workforce with well-trained providers who bring additional valuable skills to their practices. Students enter residency or the workforce with enhanced competencies, improved professional networks, and increased employment opportunities.
The MPH portion of the MD-MPH and DMD-MPH degrees is through 麻豆国产AV Online (AUO).
Students pursuing either dual degree will complete all requirements for the MD or DMD, plus an additional 39 credit hours for the MPH, which includes a 2-credit-hour public health internship. Both the MD, DMD, and MPH degrees are conferred at the conclusion of the MD or DMD program.

Students applying to the MD-MPH or the DMD-MPH Dual Degree Program must be currently enrolled 麻豆国产AV MD or DMD students in good standing (academically and professionally) with the Medical College of Georgia as determined by the MCG Deanery. Students must submit all required application materials and documentation including the approved application, a copy of their JagTrax, and a signed program of study/schema. Admission requirements for the MPH are posted online and include a minimum overall GPA of 2.8 at the Baccalaureate level, a bachelor鈥檚 degree, and official transcripts. Requirements for letters of recommendation, English proficiency exam scores, and interviews are waived for medical students.

Currently enrolled 麻豆国产AV MD or DMD students must apply to and be accepted into the MPH program. MD or DMD students must submit their letter of intent by March 30 of their first year in the MD or DMD program, and must submit a dual degree application by March 30 of their second year in the MD or DMD program with the understanding that acceptance and enrollment in the MPH program are contingent upon the approval of the Medical College of Georgia, the Dental College of Georgia, the School of Public Health, and The Graduate School.
Both MD or DMD and MPH degrees are awarded at the same time if both degree requirements are completed. The MPH degree will not be awarded prior to completion of the MD or DMD degree. If the requirements for the MD or DMD degree are completed before the MPH, then the MD or DMD is conferred and the MPH degree will be conferred once those requirements are completed.
