JagNET: New Employee Training

The Office of Educational Pathways and Outreach is excited to announce its brand-new installment of the EPO Certificate Program: JagNET: New Employee Training. JagNET is Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV’s new employee training track designed to help you hit the ground running.

Through engaging sessions held across our campuses and virtually, you'll discover key resources, meet fellow Jags, and gain essential knowledge about AU’s culture, traditions, and support systems. This program reflects the university's commitment to cultivating a welcoming educational environment that prepares our employees to thrive in their perspective roles.

Information and Requirements:

  • This free program is open to faculty and staff on all campuses, including Wellstar MCG Health, but excluding undergraduate and graduate student employees.
  • In-person workshops will be available on the Summerville and Health Sciences campus.
  • Virtual workshops will also be available for those located on satellite campuses.
  • Participating employees must complete (7) courses
    • Each session is 1.5 hours
  • Participating employees must complete all workshops within 12 months

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify key resources, services, and support systems available to employees across Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV’s campuses.

  • Increase awareness and understanding of belonging and cultivate a welcoming environment for Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV.
  • Demonstrate awareness of university policies, procedures, and employee benefits that promote personal and professional well-being.

 

Fall 2026 Workshops

The Professionalism Playbook: Navigating the Modern Workplace

Professionalism is key to creating a respectful, collaborative, and student-centered campus environment. This interactive workshop explores professional attire, essential workplace skills, professional boundaries, and digital etiquette while recognizing that expectations may vary across departments and roles. Participants will gain practical strategies to enhance their professional presence, strengthen workplace relationships, and confidently represent themselves and the university.

True Colors: Valuing Difference- Creating Unity

Uncover your unique personality strengths and explore how to use them to improve communication, collaboration, and leadership within academic environments. Designed for faculty and staff, this course applies the True Colors framework to foster greater self-awareness, enhance team dynamics, and support welcoming practices that contribute to student success and a positive campus culture.

The Language and Landscape of Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV

This interactive course provides faculty, staff, and students with a foundational understanding of Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV’s institutional identity, culture, and communication norms. Participants will explore the university’s history, mission, values, and organizational structure while learning to navigate the unique terminology, acronyms, and traditions that shape the campus experience. Through guided discussions and activities, the course also examines community expectations, inclusive practices, and key resources that support belonging and success at Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV.

Explore AU: Campus Walking Tour

Get to know Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV from the ground up with Jaguar Journey, an engaging and interactive walking tour of both the Summerville and Health Sciences campuses. Designed for new employees, this in-person experience offers a unique opportunity to explore key locations, learn about campus history, and discover valuable resources available to faculty and staff. Comfortable shoes encouraged—this is where your AU journey takes its first steps!

Intergenerational Demographics in the Workplace

This course explores the dynamic interplay of intergenerational demographics in the workplace. Participants will gain insights into how varying generational experiences shape workplace interactions and learn strategies for building meaningful connections. Through a panel discussion featuring Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV faculty and staff, attendees will hear real-life experiences and practical approaches to fostering a culture of belonging.

Your HR Compass: A Guide to Support, Solutions, & Success

This course is designed to provide employees with essential Human Resources (HR) insights while building a stronger understanding of the organization’s support systems. Participants will learn how HR can assist with a wide range of concerns—from addressing everyday questions to navigating more complex and sensitive matters. The course will also provide guidance on where to seek help regarding benefits, perks, employee relations, and personal challenges, while clarifying the best ways to connect with the HR team.

GoJags!: AU Spirit & Traditions Playlist

It's time to Press Play on Pride and kick off your Âé¶¹¹ú²úAV experience! Celebrate AU traditions, show your Jaguar pride, and discover what it means to represent AU both on and off campus. Together, we’ll dive into why traditions matter—how they foster a sense of belonging, build community, and positively influence retention and morale. From the ringing of the A-Bell to the legend of the Arsenal Oak, this course explores the unique symbols, rituals, and events that define Jaguar pride.
