About EPO

AU鈥檚 Educational Pathways & Outreach (EPO) aims to provide strategic direction and guidance to the university community's commitment to Excellence.

Purpose: EPO helps units campus-wide foster practices that optimize the contributions of groups and individuals by supporting the engagement and development of all faculty, staff, students and patients.

Mission: AU鈥檚 Educational Pathways & Outreach (EPO) aims to provide strategic direction and guidance to the university community. In addition, EPO strives to provide institutional leadership focused on enhancing and maintaining belonging and success in learning, teaching, research and service at the 麻豆国产AV. 

Vision Statement: EPO will build, align and coordinate efforts as a strategic approach that contributes to organizational goals and business performance. In addition, EPO aspires to create a campus climate that affirms an array of experiences, fosters value and respect of all community members, and celebrates unity.

Kristie R.  Johnson is the Director of Educational Pathways and Outreach and an adjunct professor in the English and World Languages department at 麻豆国产AV. A lifelong resident of the 麻豆国产AV area, she holds a Master of Public Administration degree from 麻豆国产AV and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Georgia College and State University. In her role as Director of EPO Johnson oversees the development of initiatives designed to create pathways for prospective AU students, leads institutional TRIO grant seeking efforts, builds and maintains robust partnerships with local school systems, and provides guidance for the creation of person-centered professional development opportunities for AU faculty and staff members.

Angela believes in and cares about education as a transformational, life-enhancing, potential-developing experience and is delighted to serve as program manager in 麻豆国产AV University's Office of Educational Pathways and Outreach. Her professional portfolio is centered on the creation of pathways experiences across 麻豆国产AV's colleges and programs for prospective students. Her professional background includes time in private and public-school classrooms at all grade levels and serving as the Assistant Director of Admissions for the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities in Greenville, SC. Additionally, her her broad professional work history includes industries like finance, banking and staffing in a variety of organizations from small, woman-owned start-up to Fortune 500 companies. When not partnering with her university colleagues to create new ways to help students plan their academic futures, she is an avid arts advocate and consumer, dedicated reader, amateur foodie and community volunteer.

Za鈥機uan McNeil is a native of Florence, SC and a graduate of Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. Upon graduating, he began teaching Middle Grades in the Richmond County School System. Za鈥機uan joined the Office of Educational Pathways and Outreach in 2024 as the Learning and Development Coordinator. In this role, Za鈥機uan is responsible for developing and facilitating person-centered opportunities for faculty and staff that encourage them to cultivate a welcoming environment for the AU community.
